Richard Jones qualified from Liverpool Veterinary School in 1992 and has spent the last 22 years working solely in small animal practice in Yorkshire.

The first 10 years were spent working in a large veterinary hospital alongside specialists in cardiology, dermatology, and ophthalmology and for the last 12 years he has been running his own practice.

During those 12 years Richard built the practice around the ethos of care and compassion for the animals and complete client satisfaction.

He quotes, “I try to be friendly, open and approachable and was proud to be nominated by my clients on four separate occasions for the prestigious annual Vet of the Year Awards.

My new practice, based on the grounds of Sidmouth Garden Centre, is the first purpose built veterinary centre in the area.

It has a spacious waiting room, 3 large consulting rooms , 2 operating theatres, separate cat and dog wards and a state of the art x-ray suite. We have all the facilities on site to cater for all your veterinary needs from simple things such as clipping nails right up to complex orthopaedic procedures.

There are in-house blood analysis machines which can give diagnostic results in minutes and digital x-ray facilities for instant razor sharp images.

There is also ample free parking at the surgery.

The staff will include a qualified veterinary nurse and experienced reception staff who will be pleased to answer all your questions either by telephone or if you just want to pop in for a chat.

Our aim at Sidmouth Veterinary Practice is to fulfil all of your own and your pets needs in a caring, professional and friendly manner in a suitably modern environment”.

Thank you so much Richard for helping Cosmo.. Excellent Surgery and a kind understanding Vet

Cosmo, my Shih Tzu was in a traumatic state after insufficient care at another vets.
Thankfully Richard got straight to work at making Cosmo comfortable and addressing the problem.
A kind Vet who loves animals, knows his stuff and is NOT about racking up a bill by adding unnecessary products…Superb

The team at Sidmouth Vet Practice are really friendly, helpful and caring of the animals. The consult prices are good & Richard is very good with the animals. They can quickly order in products you might need such as special food. Kate on reception is always so welcoming on the phone and in person and goes out of her way to help you out.

There have been some great information evenings & a lovely open day. It is good to see the vets being active in the community, promoting good healthcare and supporting local animal rescues.

There’s plenty of parking right outside too!

“Have had my puppy Bailey with Sidmouth Vets from the start, they are amazing, they have been brilliant. Bailey got an infection in his mouth and I got right on the phone and they saw him straight away. Very good prices, they are more about the care of pets than the cost of things. Recommended a friend who has now changed vets and had her dogs castration done here and they were amazing with him so totally 5 star”
